Bringing a Fresh Perspective to Our Educational Community

Greetings Orland Unified Community,

I am an Orland USD alumni and have dedicated the past nine years to working with the Glenn County Office of Education as the Medi-Cal Program Coordinator.

My intent as a potential board member is to enhance the connection between the school board and the community, and to foster a more accessible and engaged educational environment for everyone involved.

As a parent of a student in the dual immersion program through Orland Unified, I am a strong advocate for this initiative. I have witnessed firsthand the significant benefits it brings to our community and am passionate about supporting its growth. To facilitate better communication between parents and teachers on dual immersion topics, I created a Facebook group page, which has become a valuable resource for DI families across the district. Additionally, I am passionate about supporting our special education community and ensuring that every student receives the attention and support they need to succeed, including those who are eager to be challenged and advance.

Before joining the Glenn County Office of Education, I spent 22 years at Enloe Medical Center, primarily as an emergency medical dispatcher. This experience gave me a profound understanding of our community's needs, especially those of our children. Additionally, I have been actively involved in various community services, including serving a year on the board for Westside Domestic Violence, coaching for Orland Little League, and holding positions such as treasurer for Mill Street Parent Club and member of the School Site Council (SSC) for Mill Street.

Community service is a true passion of mine, and I believe it can drive meaningful change when the focus is correctly placed.

Thank you for your support and for being an integral part of our community.

Warm regards,

Coreen DeLeon
